Blepharoplasty Surgery in Wilmington, NC
la Belle vie Plastic Surgery
As skin ages, it loses its elasticity. As a result, excess eyelid skin can often impair vision, cause an unrested appearance, and add age. An upper eyelid lift, or blepharoplasty, removes this excess skin to improve these unwanted symptoms. At times, fat removal from around the upper and inner eye assists in achieving a younger, more youthful appearance. Bagginess from the lower eyelids can also be treated with a lower eyelid lift.
Referred to as a “functional upper blepharoplasty,” this procedure is covered by some insurance companies with the additional documentation needed. Typically, the patient has to prove the surgery is a necessity. For example, drooping lids impacting vision. This can be further evaluated at a face to face consultation with the surgeon.
Those who are ideal candidates are middle-aged people in good health with droopy lids or excess fat.
