CHEMICAL PEELS: A VARIETY TO CHOOSE FROM
la Belle vie Chemical Peels
MICROPEELS—FEELS LIKE A FACIAL BUT WITH SIGNIFICANTLY MORE BENEFITS TO YOUR SKIN!
Micropeels, a.k.a. “lunch-time peels,” are quick, easy, and typically where you begin your skin care regimen. There’s NO downtime and NO peeling with a micropeel for two reasons.
- We start with a manual exfoliation [either dermaplane or scrub] depending on your skin’s needs.
- Micropeels penetrate only the epidermis [top layer of the skin], so they’re very gentle. They are not intended to make your skin peel, which is the beauty of a micropeel. You can have this treatment & immediately go back to your routine [work, makeup, life]. While they are safe to have every 2 weeks if you are looking for a fast result or if preparing your skin for a more aggressive treatment [lasers or microneedling], a typical schedule is to repeat this treatment every 4-6 weeks, which mimics your skin’s natural cell turnover rate. These can be done year-round.
Benefits to the skin include improved tone, texture, & hydration; elasticity & collagen production; and reduction in the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, & lightened pigment.
Professional products are strongly suggested prior to beginning this regimen for the best results.
MEDIUM DEPTH PEELS:
Medium-to-deep depth peels are stronger peels that have the potential to cause peeling of the skin for up to 10-12 days depending on your skin type. These peels take a more aggressive approach, and your skin will need to be prepped by starting with a series of at least 3 micropeels. These peels reach deeper into the skin and are typically done in the fall/winter when you can stay completely out of the sun. They are safe to have every 6 weeks; however, a consultation with your provider is needed to determine what is best for your skin. These peels are not done with any type of manual exfoliation.
Tone, texture, & hydration will improve. Elasticity & collagen production increases and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles is reduced. Pigment is significantly diminished.
Clients must be using professional products for a minimum of 4-6 weeks to have this treatment.
*Clients wishing to have any chemical peels should stop using retinoids [retinol, Tretinoin, Tazorac, any Vitamin A product] 3 days prior/5 days post having a treatment. *
